Chuck Rettig is Commissioner of the IRS responsible for the nation’s tax system, with approximately 80,000 employees and an $11 billion budget. His mission includes improving taxpayer services while respecting taxpayer rights. Rettig is particularly interested in increasing stakeholder engagement. With the enactment of the Taxpayer First Act in 2019, Commissioner Rettig is tasked with modernizing the IRS's technology systems and developing a plan to restructure the IRS to better serve taxpayers.

Department of Labor

Eugene Scalia became Secretary of Labor in September 2019. He previously served as Solicitor of Labor, the Department of Labor's principal legal officer, working in President George W. Bush's Administration. As solicitor, he pursued initiatives to protect low-wage workers, reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, and enhance enforcement of workplace safety laws. Prior to his confirmation as Secretary of Labor, Scalia was a lawyer with a national reputation as an expert in labor and employment law.
